Q: Do I need an external inverter to power the GLD15? 

A: No external AC inverter is required when the GLD15 is connected to a compatible 48V DC battery system. Its native 48V DC design allows direct DC power connection, helping simplify the electrical setup. 

Q: How much battery capacity do I need?

A: For extended off-grid cooling, a high-capacity 48V battery bank is recommended. A 48V 300Ah battery provides up to approximately 10 hours of cooling under specified test conditions. Actual runtime varies by mode, temperature, and RV insulation. 

Q: Will it fit my RV?

A: The GLD15 fits a standard 14.25" × 14.25" roof opening and suits large RVs, fifth wheels, high-roof vans, and semi-trucks. The included air duct sponge fits most RV roofs. If more foam is needed, we'll send additional foam.

Q: What's the difference between a 48V DC RV air conditioner and a standard (AC-powered) one?  

A: Compared to traditional 115V AC units, a 48V DC air conditioner avoids the conversion losses of an external AC inverter, integrates directly with 48V battery and solar systems, is better suited for extended off-grid use, and reduces reliance on shore power or generators. 

Q: Do I need ductwork?

A: No ducting is required. This is a non-ducted rooftop unit that blows air directly from the indoor unit. This simplified design ensures maximum airflow efficiency and a much easier installation for setups.
