Top Discharge Airflow Design

The vertical top-discharge airflow directs exhaust upward, eliminating the 5–6 ft front clearance required by traditional side-vent units for easier installation in tight spaces. A three-sided air intake expands the heat exchange area for improved efficiency and performance, helping reduce heating costs by up to 70% compared to traditional gas heaters.

Advanced Full DC Inverter Technology

The Full DC inverter system intelligently adjusts compressor and fan speed to maintain consistent pool temperatures across a wide range of conditions. It automatically reduces power once the target temperature is reached, saving energy while keeping water comfortable. Soft-start technology ensures quiet, grid-friendly operation and reliable performance year-round.

Disclaimer:

This calculation uses the thermal energy conservation method: Total BTUs = (Volume × 8.34 × ΔT). A 2.0x efficiency factor is applied to account for heat loss to the environment during the heating process.

Actual heating performance may vary depending on several factors, including:

  • Use of a pool cover (highly recommended)
  • Wind exposure and ambient air temperature
  • Humidity levels and sun exposure

For air temperatures below 50°F (10°C), heat pump efficiency drops significantly and heating times will increase.

FAQ

Can the unit operate year-round?

It features cooling and heating modes to work within an ambient temperature range of 14-109°F. Operating outside this range will trigger a malfunction and potentially damage the unit.

How long does it take to reach the temperature I set?

Taking several days to reach your desired temperature is NORMAL. Performance can be affected by various factors, including ambient temperature, water volume, pool insulation quality, wind exposure, proper installation, and regular maintenance.

Any tips for using a pool heat pump effectively?

Make sure to let the unit sit upright for over 24 hours before use. We suggest installing barriers like fences or plants around the pool to lower wind impact on the water surface. Use a pool cover to retain heat and reduce evaporation.

Can it be used for a saltwater pool?

Yes. The unit features a titanium heat exchanger, which is corrosion-resistant. However, please ensure that the heat pump is installed upstream of the saltwater pool and a check valve is installed between them to prevent any backflow.

Does the unit have an internal heater to prevent freezing?

This unit features an auto-defrost function to prevent ice buildup on the unit, ensuring consistent heating efficiency and extending the heat pump's lifespan in cold weather.

Can I install it myself?

The Beluga series requires professional installation. Particularly for models B58V, B50V, B75V, B100V, B120V, and B160V, which must be hardwired to 220-240V by a certified electrician.
