Pool Heat Pump Size Calculator
Disclaimer:
This calculation uses the thermal energy conservation method: Total BTUs = (Volume × 8.34 × ΔT). A 2.0x efficiency factor is applied to account for heat loss to the environment during the heating process.
Actual heating performance may vary depending on several factors, including:
- Use of a pool cover (highly recommended)
- Wind exposure and ambient air temperature
- Humidity levels and sun exposure
For air temperatures below 50°F (10°C), heat pump efficiency drops significantly and heating times will increase.

FAQ
It features cooling and heating modes to work within an ambient temperature range of 14-109°F. Operating outside this range will trigger a malfunction and potentially damage the unit.
Taking several days to reach your desired temperature is NORMAL. Performance can be affected by various factors, including ambient temperature, water volume, pool insulation quality, wind exposure, proper installation, and regular maintenance.
Make sure to let the unit sit upright for over 24 hours before use. We suggest installing barriers like fences or plants around the pool to lower wind impact on the water surface. Use a pool cover to retain heat and reduce evaporation.
Yes. The unit features a titanium heat exchanger, which is corrosion-resistant. However, please ensure that the heat pump is installed upstream of the saltwater pool and a check valve is installed between them to prevent any backflow.
This unit features an auto-defrost function to prevent ice buildup on the unit, ensuring consistent heating efficiency and extending the heat pump's lifespan in cold weather.
The Beluga series requires professional installation. Particularly for models B58V, B50V, B75V, B100V, B120V, and B160V, which must be hardwired to 220-240V by a certified electrician.
